You should regularly perform our Total Body Workout whilst you are targeting specific body areas in your exercise programmes, or playing golf (or both!), in order to ensure that you retain proper balance and symmetry in your overall musculature.
You should note that the workout has been designed for use by golfers who have learnt to brace and set their spine in a neutral position. If you are to avoid the risk of injury, it is important that you acquire these skills before attempting any kind of exercise. So, if you have not already done so, you should download and use our videos on trunk stability and posture.
To make the programme flexible to use, we have divided our Total Body Workout into four discrete modules. If you wish, you can perform the whole programme by working your way through all four modules or, if you prefer, limit yourself to the two lower body modules and perform the two upper body modules on another occasion. If you are really pushed for time, you might chose to do one module at a time on four different occasions. It really is up to you. The only requirement is that you balance your use of the four modules both in terms of upper and lower body and of mobility and strength.
Our performance capability can vary from day to day and you should always ‘listen to your body’. If having done a module, you feel fatigued, have a break and continue with the next module at a time that is appropriate for you. If you choose not to continue with another module, don’t forget to warm down properly and, to help you to do that, if you haven’t already done so, I recommend that you have a look at our warm down video, which is free to watch from our website.
Please note that, unless we state otherwise, you should perform 10-15 reps for all the exercises in these workout modules.
